Verging on the edge of this becoming a lifestyle blog, I sometimes find that I like to post more than things that are strictly related to translation: things that inspire me, things I come across at my work, which is often very different each passing day, what I long for, garden design plans with my brother, what I tried or plan to try for dinner, cocktails, a nice gesture from my gorgeous man. After all these are all in a way part of life as a freelancer [and a freelance translator] aren’t they? 🙂
As much as I like your «scholar-ly» posts, immensely appreciate your «dictionaries & glossaries» page and always look forward to your book presentations/suggestions, I love it when you blog about lifestyle «trivia» (or are they?!) because I think you have impeccable taste… it would be such a shame not to share it! 🙂 🙂

🙂 That’s so nice of you to say!!! I sometimes feel people are following in order to read about translation and books and they might feel misled when I post other stuff but I think that a blog is mainly a way to express yourself and share things you like whatever these might be. And definitely to get your mind off work a little bit!!! i think you’re doing the same (and very well if I might add) in your blog, too!

Haha! Mine is all over the place (but you’re so kind to think otherwise!)… so over the place that I can hear my college professors’ number one rule buzzing in my head all the time: «be audience/purpose-specific»!!! Right… I tried that for a while and it didn’t work… or I couldn’t make it work! Then I decided it was my blog and it would have to be a reflection of me… all over the place! 😛

yes, that’s the spirit! you can (and have to) follow rules at work etc anyway!
