My weekend plans include reading 2 books:
The swimmer by John Cheever, «the Chekhov of the suburbs», one of the most famous American authors we had never heard of (yes, I am ashamed).
And finishing The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith aka J. K. Rowling, a detective novel which is very promising in terms of suspence so far (already in page 100 out of 400).
Two very different books, styles, and eras, with the glamour and decadence of the suburbs back to back with the doom and gloom of modern time London.
